UPDATES

Ivan Reitman has officially joined the production of Ghostbusters 3. He's on board as the film's producer but has yet to announce if he'll direct. Reitman was producer and director on the first two installments.

Danny Boyle's (Slumdog Millionaire) next film could tell the story of Aron Ralston. The mountain climber who cut off his own arm to survive after being pinned by a boulder. Ryan Golsing (Half Nelson) could be in the lead in the film.

Wesley Snipes (Brooklyn's Finest) and Zoe Bell (Death Proof) have joined Game of Death. The film will have Snipes and director Abel Ferrara re-team, the pair worked together on the amazing King of New York.

Mia Wasikowska (Alice In Wonderland, Defiance) will star in Gus Van Saint's (Milk) Restless. The film will focus on a pair of teenagers who share a preoccupation with mortality.

Controversial director Lars von Trier (Antichrist) will next tackle a psychological disaster film titled Planet Melancholia.

The official plot of Resident Evil: Afterlife has been released. Along with Kacey Barnfield and Norman Yeung joining the cast.

"In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap."

It looks like we'll be getting more Texas Chainsaw films. Twisted Films best known for their Saw series has bought the rights to the horror franchise. I think Platinum Dunes had tapped as much as they could from the characters.
