Marvel Casting Rumor Roundups (Ant-Man, Modok, Punisher, Luke Cage, Spidey)

It's been a busy week for outlandish rumors and casting hopefuls for Marvel films. First up is a big rumor coming from MCU which says that Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Joel Edgerton (Warrior, The Thing), Lee Pace (Robin Hood, The Hobbit), Eddie Redmayne (War Horse) and Joel Kinnaman (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) are on a wishlist for a large role at Marvel Studios.

The first thought is that this very well could be for Hank Pym, who is the lead character in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man. I also wouldn't be surprised if these are also candidates for Fox's Daredevil reboot. Cooper seems the best bet as his comedic background and leading man appeal could help boost the interest in Ant-Man. He's been burned before by Warner Bros. during the Green Lantern casting so I wouldn't expect him to test unless there is a solid offer on the table. Edgerton is also a strong canadidate considering the praise his film Warrior has been earning and could end up in the Oscar race. He's been a quiet player in Hollywood blockbusters so this seems like up his alley.

-Captain America writer Christopher Markus wants to see Peter Dinklage play Modok in a future Cap film.

-A possible typo has given fuel to a rumor that Christoph Waltz might appear in Amazing Spider-Man as Norman Osborn (Green Goblin).

-Dwayne Johnson wants a shot at playing Luke Cage (Power Man).

-Joe Manganiello (Spider-Man, True Blood) wants a crack at playing Frank Castle (Punisher) with dream director Michael Mann behind the camera.
